Hello San Ramon Friends,
This has truly been an eventful year. We (your caring editors) hope that you are well and are taking care of yourself and your loved ones.
Should an emergency come to your door – it’s going to be a long fire season, along with the COVID virus – we want to make sure you’re ready.
Here’s a handy list of things to do to prepare for any sort of evacuation or life change. Use the attached photo as a checklist.
1. Important Papers. Take photos and save to the Cloud. Put printed copies in a waterproof case/plastic bag. Items to include:
• Your driver’s license
• Deed to your house
• Proof of insurance
• Medical records
• Passports
• Social security cards
• A list of personal contacts

2. Safeguard Pets. Make sure they are micro-chipped and have I.D. collars. Create pet grab-and-go kits. Items to include:
• Leashes

• three days worth of food and water
Note: Most emergency shelters will only accept service animals that assist people with disabilities.
3. Make a Grab-and-Go Emergency Kit. Include essential supplies, such as water, food, and first-aid supplies.
4. Clean Your Yard. Clean dried or dead branches and leaves from the yard. Clear leaves and debris from gutters.
5. Know How to Shut Off Utilities. Prevent additional damage such as flooding, fire and explosions. Learn more here: https://www.allstate.com/blog/how-to-shut-off-utilities-in-a-natural-disaster/
